Sorry for the late update, I’ve been really busy at work. But I still managed to get many interesting postcard. I said interesting because some of these postcards were sent from and postmarked in what postcrossers call “hard-to-get-countries” such as Malawi and Ghana! I am thrilled to have those cards. But what makes these cards very, very special is that these were sent to me by very special people, people who are close to my heart. Thanks to all of you!
Finally, I have found albums which I can use for my cards. The albums are lignin-free and acid-free so I think that should be enough to protect my dear cards. These are actually scrapbooking albums with protective sheets. I have been looking for postcard albums but there are no such things here in the Philippines. I have visited different specialty stores in Metro Manila and other key cities in Visayas and Mindanao but no positive results. So I think the scrapbooking albums will be fine. (But if there’s someone somewhere out there who’s generous enough to send me a postcard album, that is going to make me jump four feet high LOL
).
Take care, everyone! And thanks for visiting even if I’ve been away for so long.
Hey, its nice to see you with an update here
so, im not the only one searching for a postcard album….i would need more than one though, but so far, havent been able to find any…esp. since i would need one which will fit various postcard sizes, not just the regular ones.
So far, i have just kept them in a big box but they look quite disorganized there, esp. the ones that are on the bottom…it would be really neat to actually have a postcard album, flip pages and look at the various countries, along with the messages on the back…that would look really nice
*hugs*
Thanks for all the comments so far! I’m loving my time here, despite the possible Malaria and worms
As you can tell, I can’t really say where I’m “stationed” but I’m really enjoying south Negros and can’t wait to travel to other islands – just a hop, skip, and a jump away from each other! We’ll be traveling to Cebu in a few weeks so I’m really excited to see how different barangays live.
Hi, nice to visit ur blog. I’m sure u must hve a wonderful collection of poscards.
hi thanks for leaving a comments. taga Tanauan, Leyte ako. ikaw? care to x-links?
Hey there pinaypostcrosser,
im also looking for an album which can store and display my postcards. Like you, im having trouble looking for a good album— cant find one that will accomodate the typical size of a postcard and one that will show both sides of the postcard (the front and the back)
i tried looking at National bookstore, they only have the photo album type… the clear sheets in binders are for legal/letter size sheets, not for the customary size of the postcard… if you find any info on where to buy, would love to be informed…
by the way, i also send my postcards in the Manila central post office
Let me know if ur interested to swap postcards, it would be fun to receive some Philippine postcards in the mail…
Have a nice day!
