Today I received a postcard from Anna, my postcrossing friend from Latvia! She actually sent me a photo of the river, Venta, which divides her small town, Ventspils, into two parts—the industrial side and the side with castles, museums, etc.

I am so happy today! I got three postcards—two in the morning and one in the afternoon.
The two postcards which came in the mornig came from a very far away land. Situated in north-eastern Europe with a coastline along the Baltic Sea, Latvia is geographically the middle of the three former Soviet Baltic republics.
